Ants do not sleep. It's true what you read. All throughout their lives, they do not sleep, but they are still quite active.
According to a study on the sleep cycle of ants, a worker ant typically naps 250 times every day for just over a minute each. This equals to 4 hours and 48 minutes of sleep each day. For them, that is adequate. According to the study, 80% of the ant workforce was constantly alert and engaged.
The average duration of a queen ant's sleep pattern is approximately 6 minutes. The worker ants actually get more of these breaks even though the queen ants' sleep sessions are noticeably longer. Therefore, worker ants would sleep roughly 250 times each day, whereas queen ants slept only 90 times each day.
